Presumpscot Historic and Natural River Corridor Gains Support

Friends of the Presumpscot River (FOPR) presented a proposal last week to the city and town councils of Gorham, Windham and Westbrook, requesting consideration of a joint resolution that would designate a five-mile stretch of river—between Mallison and Saccarappa Falls—as the Presumpscot Historic and Natural River Corridor (see full proposal attached).

Back by popular demand, Friends of the Presumpscot River (FOPR) will host the Second Annual Community River Float & Cookout on Thursday, July 20, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., kicking off the non-profit group’s 25th Anniversary celebrations. The free community event, including a neighborhood cookout and boat demos, will take place at the Brown Street Boat Launch in Westbrook at the Presumpscot River Trailhead connecting Riverton Trolley Park to Warren Avenue.
