Friends of the Presumpscot River is a volunteer-led organization. Your tax-deductible contribution will provide critical support to our work, including the following key initiatives:
Legal advocacy: FOPR works strategically to coach and collaborate in finding the best outcome for the river. Our team has been at this, with great outcomes for river communities, for over 20 years.
Fish Passage & River Research: We work with the best consultants and experts in the nation to determine the best plan for restoring the river. As a nation, we've spent centuries building dams, but removing them is a relatively new field. Our research and scientific analysis helps set national precedent for doing the job right.
Outreach & Collaboration: The leaders at FOPR have played a pivotal role as super-connectors among the conservation and environmental groups in the region. We hope to continue that role, but to do so we need your help as we shift from a reactive to a proactive mode.
