Come Paddle the Presumpscot!
The Presumpscot River has long been an important gathering place in the Greater Portland area- sustaining first nations, shaping modern communities, and offering quiet beauty and abundance to all who spend time along its banks. Join Friends of the Presumpscot River for a series of free community paddles that invite people of all ages and abilities to experience the river’s rich history and natural value firsthand. These events are a chance to connect with neighbors, explore a local treasure, and deepen your relationship to the region’s shared waters.
We believe everyone deserves the chance to connect with their local river, an essential resource to be celebrated, restored, protected, and preserved for generations to come.
This is a bring your own equipment event. All community paddles will be easy out & back trips, but folks can feel free to head back at any point.
A waterproof Presumpscot River paddling map is available for folks that would like one! Friends gear will also be available for purchase to support our education and advocacy efforts.
