  • Walker Memorial Library 800 Main Street Westbrook, ME, 04092 United States (map)

Join Friends of the Presumpscot River for a talk on how the City of Westbrook came to be. Mayor Mike Sanphy, also President of the Westbrook Historical Society, will give a presentation on the area’s industrial history, focusing on Saccarappa and how its development shaped our natural landscape and our city. After the mayor’s talk, Abigail Cioffi, Executive Director of the Downtown Westbrook Coalition, will discuss the city’s current and future plans for revitalizing the downtown area and Main Street, and how the renewal of the river’s natural landscape and biological diversity is connected to these efforts.
